Being an extension of real life, the internet is often driven by fads, trends & popular opinion. If people WANT blogs and forums to be the new trend this week, it will be. If they want podcasting to be the new wave of today, it will be.
Many believe the job of those here on the ‘net who want to sell to the masses is to find that new trend and utilize it to keep our businesses moving forward. There is a very real truth to that. Life is an always-in-motion process…the only thing constant in life is change – and you better believe it. Your customers are like sharks…always in motion, always looking for that new stimulus to catch their eye.
It is very hard to keep up with change in today’s society. It was something many in our prior generations could not do very well and if they could, they were considered rebels or anarchists. Now in our generation, the rebels and anarchists are considered those who are “old-fashioned”, who go “retro”. Go figure.
We may not like it, but we need to take the time to keep our website fresh. It may take our time away from what we love to do…or does it?
It doesn’t have to and if you come back around another day, I will tell you why.
