Keep Your Website Fresh, part two
So, how do we do add fresh content to our websites without having to spend a lot of time doing it and is it taking away from what we love to do?
Not really. If you are in the retail/wholesale trade, it doesn’t have to take any additional time except to write up the blog, or post that photo of your most current project, the latest happenings in your industry, etc. I will give you an example:
Say you are a jewelry designer (which I also happen do on the side). You create your beautiful new earcuff, necklace or earring, make that bead from fused glass, sculpey or wood or whatever material you work in and you have to shoot a picture of it anyway to sell it wherever you sell it – on the ‘net, in an online or offline auction, in a catalog or a crafts fair in another town. Take that photo and feature it on your homepage, or post it on your blog or feature it in a forum post – or do all three!
Part of doing what you love is also showing off your work. That keeps us happy and proud of our accomplishments, and when sales are low, it is the best pick-me-up to create something, post about it somewhere and get compliments and even sales! Don’t you think so?
What if you are a Website Designer, a freelance writer, an actor? Same principal applies…post about that new website design, article or movie you were in. It provides the fresh content search engines – and your customers crave and garners you the praise you deserve.
Now get off the computer, go out there and create something and make your world a better place.
Blessings,
Kristine
